The Best High Protein Foods for Muscle Building

High Protein Foods for Muscle BuildingThe best high protein foods for muscle building can make a huge difference for you as you do everything you can to live healthier, pack on more muscle mass, and more. Of course, not all foods have a lot of protein in them, but further, not all protein is created equally. It’s important to learn more about your options so you can make intelligent and informed decisions about what to eat and how to get your protein.

High Quality Protein Sources

While traditionally all protein sources were viewed as being the same, we now know that that’s not the truth. Just as there are good fats and bad fats, there are also different types of protein. What distinguishes one protein source from another will be how well and how completely the body can utilize the protein in the food source and its makeup.

Keep in mind that protein is made up of different amino acids, some of which are essential aminos for the human body. An essential amino acid is one that the human body does not produce on its own. Therefore, finding complete sources of protein with all of your essential amino acids, and a source of protein that your body can readily absorb, is all very important.

There’s no better place to start any list of high protein foods for muscle building than with fish. Fish is an unsung hero – it offers a very high amount of protein, healthy fats which are good for your heart, a number of important nutrients, and more. Plus, fish is a very low calorie food, so you get a lot of protein for a small amount of caloric intake.

Lean chicken and turkey are two other very good choices. Just like fish, they are low calorie but high protein, and they include essential nutrients and essential amino acids that your body needs in its diet.

Red meats are also strong protein sources, but these should be eaten in smaller amounts. That’s because are fattier and higher in calories, and therefore not as completely nutritious as foods like chicken and fish. Of course, dairy products like milk, cheese, eggs and yogurt all have high protein levels as well, but intake should also be monitored due to fat and cholesterol content.

Beyond Meat, Fish and Dairy

Of course, there are other types of protein sources out there beyond the standard meat, fish and dairy. In fact, some really high quality high protein foods for muscle building are found outside of this spectrum.

One great example is tofu and soybeans, which are lean protein-packed foods. Beans and legumes also offer a lot of protein and other nutrition, as do many whole grains. A quick peanut butter sandwich on wheat bread offers two different protein sources at once, while packing in many other quality nutrients at the same time, for example.

There are lots of ways to get your body the protein it needs. You should be choosing high protein foods for muscle building that offer a lot of bang for their buck in terms of how much protein you get and how well your body can use all of those raw ingredients.

The great thing about muscle-building diet is that, it is delicious. I happened to love fish so much, and I can eat fish every day. Salmon is on the top of my list, the next one is Blue Marlin. For my dairy needs, I drink milk made of soybeans, which is a lot better than the ordinary dairy milk. To further enhance my body-building diet, I do take whey protein shake and creatine powder, the result is just amazing!

  2. I believe that avoiding processed foods could be the first step for you to lose weight. They might taste good, but processed foods contain very little vitamins and minerals, making you feed on more to have enough power to get over the day. Should you be constantly consuming these foods, transferring to grain and other complex carbohydrates will make you to have more strength while taking in less. Interesting blog post.
